Roger Meddowes-Taylor
born 26/7 1949 in Kings Lynn /Norfolk). When he was eight his family moved
to Truro in Cornwall. There he was educated at Truro School. During this
time he played in various local bands, first as a guitarist than as a
drummer (with vocals). Roger came to London as a dentistry student (London
Hospital Medical School), but left before completing his course in favor
of taking a biology degree. |

Smile was the name of Roger's band under
this studies time. Tim Staffel and Brian May were the other members. Smile
did only one released single Earth/Step on me. 1969 Freddie Mercury (also
Staffel`s flat mate) joined Roger in running a secondhand clothes
stall in Kensington Market. After two years a new band was born,
"Queen " the era begins. |

Queen
did not do so many performances at this time, and Roger wanted to play live
with a group (after two solo record). 1987 he started to choose members for
the new group. The name was "the Cross", and this time Roger did
practice he's guitar skill.

Richards (Later the Cross played with magnum on tour ,I had the privileges
to see one concert)
- Backing vocals for Ian Hunter "All American Boy"
- Backing vocals on Billy Squier`s Emotions in Motion
- Drums for some Gary Numan tracks
- Also drums on Elton John tracks 1985-86
- Jimmy Nail track "Take It On Fire" played and
co-produced
